We are pleased to confirm that we now hold the Industry Standard mark and are now Good to Go! Acquiring this mark means that The Alders has followed government and industry COVID-19 guidelines, has a Risk Assessment in place and a process to maintain cleanliness and aid social distancing!

Alders Caravan Park Covid-19 Guidelines – Please read

We are delighted to be able to welcome you back to the Alders Caravan Park and would like to provide you with details of the measures we are taking to ensure the safety of our customers, our staff and the local community.  We would like to give you as much peace of mind as possible when booking your stay with us so that you can relax and get the most out of your break in the beautiful North Yorkshire countryside.

As many of you know, we have an abundance of space at The Alders giving you the perfect opportunity to unwind, yet perfect for social distancing too.  However we have had to take a new look at how we operate here for the safety of all our guests and our staff. We adhere to the respective Government and Public Health guidance and have signed up to the ‘We’re Good to Go’ Industry Standard and supporting Mark confirming we have carried out a COVID-19 risk assessment and have the required processes in place. Please note the following requirements:

  • Check-in: This remains available between 2pm and 6pm, but please advise us of your intended arrival time to help avoid groups waiting to check-in.  We will need to stagger arrivals on some days. We aim to check most people in by coming out to your car, but if there is a need to come in to reception, we will have a ‘one person only’ rule in place so would ask other guests to wait patiently outside until the reception is clear. Inside the reception, our staff will be observing 2 metre social distancing from our guests and would ask you to respect this too. Your key fob for the security gate will have been disinfected and placed in an envelope prior to your arrival.
  • Reception/shop: You will still be able to purchase items from the shop and our own farm produce, but could you ensure you only handle items that you intend purchasing. (Please supervise your children in this respect too). The guidance on face coverings has now been updated and it is compulsory for our guests and our staff to wear face coverings in indoor public spaces. (more details can be found on this link: face covering guidance ). Please come prepared.
  • Tourist Information: We have removed all of the ‘Places to Visit’ leaflets in the reception but we have a lot of knowledge of the local area and what will be available so you only need ask. The Welcome to Yorkshire website, https://www.yorkshire.com/ is also a very good source of information.
  • Shower and Toilet Facilities: Our family bathrooms are suitable for individual household groups, but please note only one household at a time in the male and female WC rooms in the Dales block. We have introduced enhanced cleaning of all facilities regularly during the day. For increased ventilation, we will be leaving the entrance doors and windows open to both blocks (Weather permitting). Please leave open.
  • Hygiene: Although we have introduced enhanced cleaning of the facilities regularly throughout the day, we cannot clean every room every time it has been used.  Hand sanitiser dispensers have been installed outside both shower blocks for guests’ use and it is of course important to remember the guidelines on hand hygiene for the prevention of infection.  Signs and posters are displayed at various locations as reminders of good handwashing technique and hygiene. There will be disinfectant spray bottles and blue paper towel inside both shower blocks to enable guests to wipe common touch points, especially door handles and toilet flush buttons.  And of course do feel free to bring your own products so that everyone can maximise safety and minimise risk. If you do not feel comfortable with the risk of using these facilities, please consider using your own facilities. Each block will be closed for cleaning on a rota with times displayed outside each block.
  • Chemical Waste Disposal Point. A hand sanitiser dispenser has been installed outside and disinfectant spray will also be available inside for cleaning surfaces. (We ask everyone to be considerate and leave this for the next person’s use.)
  • Pot Wash area: Please only one household at the sinks at any time.
  • Camping Pods:  Our enhanced cleaning regime clearly extends to our Pods too, and we will be allowing 24 hours in between each booking to facilitate this. Customers who have booked Pods or Tent Pitches must be comfortable with the use of our shared shower and toilet facilities before they book. Before departing we would ask that customers leave the doors and the window to their Pod open for ventilation purposes.
  • Rubbish disposal: There is now one central waste point for bagged rubbish on the former visitors’ car park. The two large wheeled bins will be removed Thursday evening and returned on Friday. Please could we ask that you either take your bagged rubbish to these bins or take larger items home.
  • VISITORS:  PLEASE DO NOT INVITE FRIENDS OR FAMILY NOT STAYING AT THE ALDERS TO VISIT YOU WHILST YOU ARE STAYING WITH US. This increases the risk to everyone staying with us and to the Local Community.
  • Social distancing:  Please observe the government guidelines as they stand at the date of your visit, particularly when gathering as a group and also in respect of your children. Please consider the number of people gathering and your social distance arrangements. Please do not allow your children to roam unsupervised around the park if there is a risk they may inadvertently break the 2m rule. (2m remains the preferred distance)
  • NHS Test and Trace: We are required to assist this service by displaying the NHS QR Code Poster and ask that all customers and visitors scan the code with their phone on arrival. For customers who do not have the app or a phone, we are required to keep a temporary record of your details to comply with Test and Trace.
  • And finally, we will ask you to confirm on your arrival that no member of your group is displaying any Coronavirus symptoms, however mild and again prior to your departure. If you or any member of your group has displayed Coronavirus symptoms at home, you must not visit our Park until free from symptoms for at least 7 days from when symptoms first started, or 14 days if you live with someone who has symptoms.

We apologise about the length of this list. We are determined to make your stay with us as enjoyable as possible , but take the health and safety measures required to enable us to open and stay open,  very seriously.

Thank you for your understanding and we look forward to seeing you very soon.

Rachel, John and The Alders Team.
