Being a family at different stages of camping (1 caravan, 1 trailer tent and a few glampers) this is a perfect site for us as there are pods for the glampers and suitable pitches for the caravan and trailer tent. There is also tons of space for the children to play (varying ages from 3 to 15) and plenty of local and local-ish attractions for some great days out (Mother Shipton's, Homestead Park, Monk Park Farm, York etc)

The pitches are all level and close to water and waste facilities as well as the toilet and shower blocks which are great because you get a seperate room to yourself and lovely hot showers. Family members who stayed in the pods said they were spacious enough and warm.

The biggest selling points of this site though have to be the beautifully kept site and the friendly staff/owners. As you drive to your pitch or pod, you are greeted with the sight of large open spaces surrounded by trees and our children loved that the cows were roaming around on the road into the main part of the site. They were also lucky enough to be invited into the field with the lambs which they haven't stopped tallking about!

The owners/staff were all really friendly and were present without feeling overbearing. We were running late getting to the site but on phoning were reassured that it was ok and to just have a safe journey.

I know my family (10 adults and 8 children!) would agree with everything I've said in this review as this was our second visit to the site and we would all recommend it as a place to stay.

Spent 2 lovely days and nights here. Site is a working farm and the owners were very friendly and invited my children to feed the recently born lambs which was an absolute favourite for the children. Tranquil, quiet and very clean. Highly recommended.

This is truly a hidden gem of a site. Close to numerous towns and cities within North Yorkshire, but in a beautiful rural setting. Just returned from a Bank holiday weekend, but the site still felt tranquil. Ssshhh, keep it to yourself. ?

Really friendly atmosphere. Beautiful area and quaint small villages. Also very central for historic cities like York that  has some much to offer. Also within reach Knaresborough with its castle  and stunning views.

This is the 2nd time we've been to Alders. Staff are the friendliest people that we've met on any campsite up North. Spacious pitches. Lovely, clean, secure, peaceful and quite, exactly what we needed for our week away.
